To achieve maximum benefit for and audience impact, Robert and Jim’s presentations are most successfully staged using high-quality visual effects. To this end, the following suggestions and specifications are provided to assist sponsors in setting up prior to the event:
1. Room Lighting |
The room chosen for the presentation must have good quality daylight blockage capability. Artificial lights need to be directed away from the screen to prevent image washout. |
2. Screen |
The larger the screen, the better. Obviously, a larger screen will be required for an audience of 1,000 persons than for one of only 100 persons. As an absolute minimum, however, we recommend a screen size of 10 feet by 8 feet. If possible, we recommend that rear screen projection be used. |
3. LCD Video & Power Point Projection System
|
To ensure optimal visual impact, please provide an LCD projection system, XGA 1024 x 768 resolution or better, 1500 ansi lumens or higher for alternating video and PowerPoint. Clearly, for larger audiences, more power will be needed. Your AV supplier can advise. |
4. DVD Player |
Jim will show approximately eight minutes of video by DVD Player. This can be projected through the same projection system as used for PowerPoint. |
5. Powerpoint Graphics |
A selection of graphics are in Powerpoint format. (Powerpoint 2007) Speakers can provide a laptop or a USB Key to plug into your computer. A 4’ skirted table will be required for laptop and water and notes. |
6. Microphone |
Either a Lavaliere microphone (preferred) or a podium microphone would be suitable. The location of the microphone should be such that the screen is visible to the speaker. |
7. Speaker Lighting |
During the presentation, the house lights must be dimmed to provide maximum image quality on the screen. However, a separate light should (optimally) be focused on the speaker so that he is visible throughout the presentation. Someone in the audience should be delegated to dim the house lights at the appropriate time. |
8. A/V Technician |
The speaker requires time with the technician well before the presentation. |
9. Seating |
Seating set-up should allow for a clear, unobstructed view. |
